...yet another dose of inspiration, craziness and a bit to ponder from a Real Estate Company (?!)
I just finished with Spring Break at my house, and all three of my Ladies: my Angel (Laura), Mandy (my 9 year old--going on 30) and Aly (my 5 y.o. bruiser) left to visit Chicago over that time.
Our big 'ole house was empty and LONELY!
Of course, the first day or two was spent doing stuff that I can't do with a household of women. I got to work late into the evening (whoo-hoo! I even started one day at 8am at the office and didn't go home until 11:30pm--I am a MACHINE!), watch my movies and turn the TV to whatever the heck I wanted to watch--goodbye "Spongebob Squarepants" and hello "O'Reilly Factor" and such, and I got to eat my food (I'm a particular fan of Cheeseburger Hamburger Helper, don't ask me why, but it's the food of the Gods!).
After that initial burst of Freedom, though, I was ready to see my Ladies again. It made me appreciate them that much more.
So, the point of the story is this: if you DO get to see your loved ones, take a moment and truly appreciate them. Ask them how their day was and TRULY listen. Pull out the video camera and interview your children. Take a walk and hold hands...because you don't know when they won't be there to do that with again.
That is all for this brief, yet mildly humorous and even profound blog post!
